As a Part-Time Therapeutic Child Development Teacher at Father Joe’s Villages, you will help children build the skills, confidence, and relationships they need to thrive. You will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children experiencing homelessness can learn, play, and grow. Through developmentally appropriate activities, individualized support, and positive relationships with families, you will help promote each child’s social-emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physical development.

The Role

Provide direct care, supervision, and developmental support to children in a therapeutic childcare setting.

Plan and lead age-appropriate learning activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and developmental growth.

Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports positive behavior and social-emotional development.

Observe and document children’s developmental progress, identify areas where additional support may be needed, and implement individualized strategies.

Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers, communicating regularly about children’s progress, milestones, and needs.
