The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting of two corporate entities: MidPen Property Management Corporation and MidPen Resident Services Corporation in compliance with US GAAP and MidPen Policy and Procedures. This person will also ensure MidPen Housing and its affiliates have strong financial controls and accurate accounting information. The Corporate Accountant monitors the financial performance of corporate entities and informs appropriate parties of critical issues as soon as possible. The Corporate Accountant reports to the Corporate Assistant Accounting Manager and will work closely with Accounting, Property Management, Asset Management, Services, Information Technology, Auditors, Investors, Partners, banking relations and regulatory agencies. /p p strong Responsibilities: /strong /p ul li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial information as well as accurately compiling and reporting this information for MidPen Property Management and MidPen Resident Services Corporations /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Prepare account reconciliation, analysis and journal entries and perform on-going analytical review in support of the monthly, quarterly and annual close process /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Maintain and understand documentation related to various inter-entity billings to calculate, invoice and record earned fee revenue and receivables. /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Work closely with MidPen staff to account for restricted funds and expense activities in a timely manner /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Perform allocation of expenses to other entities and request reimbursement from those entities on a timely basis /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Prepare monthly and special management reports as requested /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Maintain, establish and improve documentation relating to internal accounting controls /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Prepare annual audit schedules and interact with auditors to complete the audit, and tax returns /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Monitor adherence to audit requirements and ensure full compliance in accordance with regulatory agencies /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Serve as a financial resource, answer questions and provide ad-hoc financial support as requested /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Develop recommendations for effective and efficient business processes and participate in cross-functional projects /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Actively participate in meetings to communicate and share accounting, internal controls and analysis information /li li data-section-id= 1g8agu2 data-start= 1630 data-end= 1802 data-is-last-node= Provide back-up support to other accountants as needed /li /ul p strong Qualifications: /strong /p ul li Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus /li li Must possess a strong understanding of GAAP principles /li li Three years of experience in accounting and financial analysis or equivalent.
