Job Summary/Position Overview:
The Cashier provides excellent customer service while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all point-of-sale (POS) transactions. This role ensures the checkout area runs smoothly and professionally, supports daily ReStore operations, and helps uphold Habitat OC’s mission by delivering a positive shopping and donation experience.
The Cashier plays a key role in representing Habitat for Humanity of Orange County to the public and must maintain a courteous, professional, and customer-focused attitude at all times.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Cash Handling & Customer Service
Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Maintain all cash registers, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies and functioning equipment; promptly report any issues or shortages to the Manager on Duty (MOD).
Check in regularly with fellow cashiers to ensure they are present, engaged, and facilitating efficient customer flow.
Direct customers to available registers to minimize wait times and maintain a smooth checkout experience.
